Listing and editorial policy
What we list, where the details come from, and how corrections, cancellations, update requests and any paid placements work.
Events, places and venues on Anglesey that the public can attend or visit. An editor decides what to include. We may decline a listing that isn’t on Anglesey, isn’t open to the public, or whose details we can’t confirm.
Listings show where their details came from, for example “Listed by” the organiser or “Listing on” another website.
Details can still change at short notice, so please check with the organiser or venue before you travel.
If something is wrong, email hello@whatsonynysmon.co.uk with the page link and what needs fixing, or use “Something wrong? Tell us” on the listing page. You don’t need to run the place or event. Organisers and businesses can also use the event update form or place update form. We change a listing once we’ve confirmed the correct details.
Use the cancel or postpone form or email us with “URGENT cancellation” in the subject. Cancellations that affect the next 7 days are marked urgent. We confirm with the organiser or venue first, then mark either the single date or the whole event as cancelled.
If you run a place or event that’s listed, you can ask us to update it. There’s no login or self-service editing: an editor makes every change. Ticking a box or typing your own email doesn’t prove you run it, so before changing anything we confirm the request through a contact the business already publishes, such as its website, phone number or social media.
Listings are free, and free listings stay free. Two kinds of placement can make a listing stand out, and each has its own label:
We don’t sell editor’s picks or day plans. Nothing is booked or charged unless the business accepts a written quote first. What’s on offer is on our For businesses page.
We only use images we have permission to use. If you send one, you’ll be asked to confirm you made it or have permission. If we’re unsure, we publish the listing without an image.
The site is in English. Descriptions can be sent in English or Welsh. We keep Welsh place names in their proper form, with accents, such as Ynys Môn.
